Harassment case on Citizen Portal: PM orders DG FIA to take action against negligent officers
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken notice of negligence in resolving a woman harassment case, lodged on the Citizen Portal.
He directed the DG FIA to immediately suspend the negligent FIA officers for the purpose of a transparent inquiry.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the woman lodged five complaints on the Pakistan Citizen Portal, but the FIA officials did not take action.
The woman had to quit her job at a university due to harassment and she approached the FIA for action against the culprits. She also allegedly attempted suicide due to non-cooperation of the FIA officers, as from Dec 16, 2019 to June 13, 2021, the FIA continued to ignore the complaint.
And, despite reopening the complaint twice, the FIA failed to fulfil its responsibility while the woman, along with her husband, reached the Prime Minister's Office with a complaint against the FIA.
