Worker killed as landslide hits stone-crushing plant

HARIPUR: A worker was killed when a landslide hit a stone-crushing plant in Khanpur tehsil here on Tuesday, police and eyewitnesses said.
The police and local people said that workers of the stone-crushing plant were busy collecting the stones from the base of a hill when the quarry caved in at around 6am. A worker identified as Tauseef Shah, 25, a resident of Mardan district, who was operating the excavator machine, was buried alive under the debris. Other workers escaped unhurt. After an effort of over three hours, the people and rescue workers managed to recover the body. A dumber truck, two excavators, and a crane were also damaged.
