MANSEHRA: The tehsil administration has started an anti- encroachment drive and removed the ‘illegal’ structures built on different roads in the city and its suburbs.
“We have removed handcarts, temporary and concrete structures built or erected on the different roads and warned many other traders if they didn’t ground such structures,” Mohammad Iqbal, the head of the anti-encroachment drive, told reporters here on Tuesday.
The joint team of TMA and police carried out the operation on Abbottabad Road, Kashmir Road and Karakoram Highway. “We had repeatedly warned traders and handcart pushers to remove the structures,” Iqbal said, adding, “We had left no other option to launch the operation.” He said that because of the encroachment, the traffic remains jammed in the city and its suburbs and people had complained about them.
