HARIPUR: A man allegedly murdered his octogenarian with a sharp-edged knife for an unknown reason in a remote village of Ghazi tehsil, police said here on Tuesday.
Police quoted Miskeen Shah of Chinar Kot village as saying that his sister Tayaba Bibi, 80, was home when her son Zahir Shah entered her room and slit her throat, using a sharp-edged knife. She died instantly and the accused managed to escape. The police shifted the body to the Haripur Trauma Centre for autopsy. The police have registered a case and claimed to have arrested the accused.
