NOWSHERA: KP Director for Elementary and Secondary Education Hafiz Muhammad Ibrahim on Tuesday ordered an inquiry against a senior teacher for threatening the headmaster of a primary school and pointing firearm at him in the presence of staff and students.

Muhammad Aaamir, head teacher of the Government Primary School No 5 at Hotikhel in Nowshera Kalaan, submitted an application to District Education Officer of Nowshera, Sajjad Akhtar. He submitted that he had applied for transfer from Palos Payaan to Nowshera Kalaan as his brother Mohammad Ahsan had passed away on March 21 and he wanted to be near his home. The head teacher said his application was duly processed and sent to KP Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Elementary and Secondary Education Sharam Khan Tarkai who issued his transfer order on June 7, last month.

Muhammad Aamir said, meanwhile, the adjustment order of another teacher, Muhammad Ayaz, who was serving at a school in the Ziarat Kakakhel area, was issued but he never took the charge. He said he took charge of office at the Government Primary School No 5 in Hotikhel on June 10 and handed to Muhammad Ayaz the copies of his (Muhammad Aamir’s) transfer and that of his (Muhammad Ayaz’s) transfer’s cancellation.

Muhammad Aamir said this enraged Muhammad Ayaz who illegally took the teachers attendance register, order book, official stamp and locked the this official record in the office. He said he issued a notice to the teacher in question the next day and asked him to return the official record and reopen the office but in vain.

Muhammad Aamir alleged that Muhammad Ayaz reached the school on June 18 and threatened him by pointing a pistol at him and all this happened in the presence of students, watchman and other staff. He said he had filed a complaint with the district police officer, SP Cantt and station house officer of Nowshera Kalan for registration of a first information report which was entertained accordingly. Another report said the accused Muhammad Ayaz had obtained a bail before arrest from District and Sessions Judge Shehnaz Hameed Khattak and the case was fixed for a hearing on July 8.
