LAHORE:The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) celebrated World Music Day at Delhi Gate here on Monday in the honour of amateur and professional musicians. The primary aim of the celebrations was to provide free music to everyone because the day was world widely celebrated as World Music Day, said WCLA officials adding historically on this day amateur musicians were encouraged to perform. It is notable that such celebrations were held inside the walled city of Lahore for the first time. With the aim of promoting folk music, WCLA arranged Dhol, Garvi singers, Aik Tara player, Dholki Tappy, Flute and Harmonium musicians and performers at Delhi Gate inside Walled City to revitalise fading cultural music of Lahore. The Sarangi School of walled city Lahore which was run by WCLA also staged a performance at the Sabeel Wali Gali.
