Functions arranged to mark BB’s68th birth anniversary

PESHAWAR: The workers of Pakistan People’ Party (PPP) here on Monday paid glowing tributes to former two-time prime minister Benazir Bhutto shaheed on her 68th birth anniversary.

They reiterated the commitment to follow the principles of the shaheed leader and continue the struggle for the rights of the oppressed.PPP provincial president Humayun Khan, general secretary Shuja Khan, information secretary Amjad Afridi, Tahir Abbas, Salim Khan and Malik Tehmash and others cut a cake to mark her birthday.

Speaking on the occasion, the PPP leaders said Benazir Bhutto was a leader of international calibre, who did not compromise on her principles. Eulogising her services for the cause of democracy, they said Benazir Bhutto laid down her life, but she did not falter in her struggle for the restoration of true democracy to the country.

They recalled that the PPP leadership did not bow before the military dictators and worked to uphold the democratic values.Meanwhile, the PPP Women Wing also organised a function to pay tribute to Benazir Bhutto.

ABBOTTABAD: People Doctors Forum (PDF) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa paid rich tributes to Benazir Bhutto shaheed at function arranged here to mark her birthday.

The function was attended by the members of PDF, PPP, Peoples Students Federation, People’s Labour Wing and others. Provincial president of PDF Professor Dr Nisar Khan cut a cake to mark the occasion.

Earlier, speakers shed light on the role of Benazir Butto for the restoration of democracy in the country and services rendered by her for the poor segments of society. They said that the Shaheed leader had displayed rare courage despite losing her brothers, father and followed in the footsteps of great leader Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
