KP Police directed to launch crackdown on mafias
PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari on Thursday directed police high ups to launch crackdown on all mafias, including land grabbers, drugs and Ice dealers with immediate effect.
The directives were issued to all Regional Police Officers, CCPO Peshawar and District Police Officers through a special circular. They have been directed to launch a crackdown against organised criminal groups especially land mafia/grabber and Ice dealers, who have made the life of the common people miserable. The IGP further directed the officials to furnish a weekly performance-based report depicting action against land mafia and ice dealers to the CPO for his perusal.
The IGP reiterated his pledge in the circular that action against land mafia and ice dealers would continue till their complete eradication.
Meanwhile, a five-member delegation of the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) called on Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari.
The delegation was led by Resident Representative Knut Ostby. He greeted the IGP on assuming his new responsibilities and discussed professional policing matters. He assured that all UNDP KP police projects would be completed in time.
The IGP appreciated the help and cooperation from the UNDP to the KP police.
