KARACHI: The Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA), seeking enhancement in its annual grant in aid, has received its regular package from the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).
A handout issued by the PBSA here on Thursday revealed that they were handed over a cheque of Rs1 million, being their annual grant for the fiscal year 2020-21. They had requested the grant in aid to be increased to Rs2.5 million in view of their past achievements and medal won.
PSB Director General Col (Retd) Asif Zaman presented the cheque to the PBSA president Jawed Karim, and the PBSA chairman Alamgir Anwar Shaikh during a meeting at the PSB headquarters in Islamabad, in which matters of mutual interest were discussed.
The PBSA top functionaries also desired to call on the Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr Fehmida Mirza at her office in Islamabad to personally request for an increase in the annual grant as well as seek special grants but she was not available due to her preoccupations in the National Assembly.
The PBSA, over the last couple of years, has been trying to persuade the IPC Minister for the release of outstanding funds.
