19 more die from corona
LAHORE:Around 19 more corona patients died and 133 new positive cases were confirmed in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
According to Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) report issued Thursday, the death toll reached 10,586 in Punjab, while confirmed cases became 344,512 in the province. Around six deaths occurred in Lahore, which raised the toll to 4,266 in provincial metropolis.
recover: The Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department (SHC&MED), Punjab, has informed that as many as 302112 corona patients have recovered in the public sector hospitals being run under the control of SHC&MED and Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department while 299 patients recovered during the last 24 hours.
In a press statement issued here on Thursday, SHC&MED Secretary Barrister Nabeel Ahmed Awan said that decline in wave of corona pandemic was witnessed in the province which reflected that out of 7,499 beds reserved in all government hospitals for corona patients, 6,537 were unoccupied. Likewise, out of 1,555 beds reserved in government hospitals of Lahore, 1,346 are vacant. He said the department had arranged 3,327 beds in isolation wards of all government hospitals in the province, out of which, 3,076 beds were vacant. As many as 412 beds for corona patients are reserved in isolation wards set up in government hospitals of Lahore and 367 beds are unoccupied there. In addition, 3,388 beds are also reserved in HDUs for patients of COVID-19 in all the hospitals of government and 2,937 of them are vacant while, in hospitals of Lahore, out of 865 beds reserved in HDUs, 753 beds are unoccupied, Nabeel Awan said.
The SHC&MED secretary said the Health Department had arranged 784 ventilators for corona patients in all hospitals of the provincial government, of which, 160 ventilators were in use while 624 are unoccupied. Around 284 ventilators are reserved in Lahore hospitals, of which, 52 are occupied and 226 ventilators are vacant, he said.
