Covid-19 claimed 14 more lives in Sindh during the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 5,306 in the province, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in his daily Covid-19 situation report on Thursday
Meanwhile 630 patients were under treatment at different hospitals, of whom condition of 576 patients was said to be critical while 44 had been put onto on life support. In addition to the 14 more deaths overnight in the province, 605 new cases of the viral disease emerged after 14,221 tests were conducted, it constituted a 4.3 per cent current detection rate.
So far 4,340,433 tests had been conducted in Sindh, against which 330,535 cases were diagnosed, of which 92.4 per cent or 305,419 patients had recovered, including 722 overnight. The CM said that currently 19,810 patients were under treatment, of whom 19,263 were in home isolation, 27 at isolation centres and 630 at different hospitals.
Out of the 605 new cases, 380 were detected from Karachi, including 110 from District East, 97 District Central, 78 District South, 41 District Korangi, 36 District Malir and 18 District West.
In the rest of Sindh, Hyderabad had 23 new cases, Jamshoro 21, Mirpurkhas and Sujawal 17 each, Tando Muhammad Khan 14, Tando Allahyar 13, Shaheed Benazirabad 11, Dadu 10, Badin, Jacobabad, Sanghar, Larkana and Tharparkr nine each, Qamber, NausheroFeroze and Thatta eight each, Kashmore seven, Matiari six, Ghotki and Umerkot three each, Sukkur two and Khairpur one. The chief minister urged people to continue following the standard operating procedures issued by the government.
