A man was found hanging inside a workshop on Fishery Road near Islamia Kanta on Wednesday. Rescuers transported the casualty to the Civil Hospital, Karachi where he was identified as 42-year-old Arif, son of Subhan.
The workshop owner, Salman, told the Docks police said that Arif was mentally disturbed after he came back from his aunt’s residence in Gujranwala about ten months ago. He often used to say that somebody would kill him. The police said that it was yet to be ascertained whether the victim was murdered or had committed suicide.
Two abductees recovered, three suspects held Police on Tuesday claimed to have recovered two people abducted in separate incidents, and arrested three suspects. Akhtar Abro and Babal Abro were arrested for their alleged involvement in kidnapping of a woman, Mehwish, who was abducted in Korangi’s Zia Colony. Police took action after the victim’s mother circulated a video on social media. One of the arrested men was Mehwish’s ex-husband. Separately, Qasim Shah was recovered from the captivity of the kidnappers, and police arrested a kidnapper, namely Abdulllah. Further investigation is under way.
