Rawalpindi : Another patient suffering from coronavirus illness, COVID-19 belonging to Rawalpindi district died of the illness in the last 24 hours while 58 new patients were tested positive from Islamabad Capital Territory and Rawalpindi district taking tally from the region to 106,824.
It is however alarming that the positivity rate of COVID-19 has been recorded as 2.7 per cent in Rawalpindi in the last 24 hours as out of 777 tests run in the district, 21 patients have been confirmed positive for the infection.
Data collected by ‘The News’ on Wednesday has revealed that a total of 988 patients have so far died of COVID-19 from Rawalpindi district while the virus has so far claimed as many as 773 lives from the federal capital.
In the last 24 hours, as many as 21 patients were tested positive for COVID-19 from Rawalpindi taking tally to 24,617 of which 23,433 patients belonging to the district have achieved cure.
The number of active cases from the district was 196 on Wednesday of which 25 patients were hospitalized in the district while the number of confirmed patients in home isolation was 171.
Meanwhile, the virus claimed no life from the federal capital in the last 24 hours while confirmation of 37 new cases from ICT took tally to 82,207. To date, a total of 80,103 patients from the federal capital have recovered from the illness while the number of active cases of the disease from ICT was recorded as 1,331 on Wednesday.
