SUKKUR: Kidnappers, supposed to be Katcha dacoits, have demanded Rs3 million ransom from the relatives of two residents of Khairpur for their safe release, who they had abducted on Monday. Reports said two residents of Khairpur were kidnapped by the Katcha dacoits from the limits of Shikarpur Police Station. Meanwhile, the relatives claimed that the kidnappers have demanded Rs3 million against their safe release. They said the men, identified as Naseem Ali and Muhammad Rafiq Abbasi, residents of Qaimuddin Kalahoro, Gambat city of district Khairpur, left their village to go to Shikarpur but were allegedly kidnapped by the dacoits of Katcha areas. The relatives accused the Khairpur Police of not cooperating on the issue while the police claimed that an investigation was underway to confirm that either they were kidnapped or had gone missing. Meanwhile, the Shikarpur Police on Tuesday recovered four abducted persons from the Katcha area of Karampur, when the dacoits were trying to shift their captives to another place. The recovered persons were identified as Naqeebullah, Inayatullah, Manjhi and Abdul Haye Sheikh. Talking to The News, the DIGP Larkana said a surgical operation to eliminate the dacoits and their hideouts was underway in Katcha areas of Durrani Mahar of Kandhkot and Katcha areas of Gharhi Tegho of Shikarpur. He claimed that 4,000 acres forest area has been vacated from the Katcha dacoits.
