Robbers kill man
LAHORE:Two robbers riding a bike killed a man and injured his boss on ‘resistance’ in Bhatta Chowk here in wee hours of Tuesday.
However, the police registered a murder case allegedly by pressurising the victim’s family. Manzoor of Bahawalpur was employed as a driver at the house of a businessman, Azhar Mukhtar. On the day of the incident, he was going with his boss to buy fruits when near Bhatta Chowk two unidentified motorcyclists tried to loot them. Manzoor offered resistance. As a result, the suspected robbers opened fire and killed him. But the police registered a simple murder case. The FIR statement allegedly changed the whole crime scene and did not mention any failed robbery attempt.
It reads, “Azhar Mukhtar and his driver Manzoor stopped at Bhatta Chowk to buy fruits when two suspects carrying fire arms started exchanging words with Azhar. They opened fire at him that hit Manzoor’s stomach.” DIG Operations Sajid Kiyani has taken notice of the incident. He said he had issued orders for the arrest of the suspected robbers using security cameras.
