Chaudhrys, Tareen group pledge support for Punjab budget passage
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPAs and allies have vowed to extend complete support to the government for passage of the annual budget 2021-22.
The Punjab budget will be presented on Monday (today) and Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht will deliver the budget speech.
In a joint parliamentary meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvaiz Elahi, who is also the parliamentary leader of Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PMLQ), extended complete support to the government over the budget.
The meeting was attended by PTI MPAs, including those who belong to the Jahangir Khan Tareen group, PMLQ MPAs as well as Punjab ministers.
The CM told the meeting Pakistan was now entering an era of progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said Punjab was facing severe financial losses when the PTI took over, but now a new era of prosperity was beginning.
He said the budget would be people-friendly and maximum relief would be given to people. He also said that funds would also be allocated for the south Punjab Secretariat.
