Increasing trend in fruits, vegetables prices continues

LAHORE:Increasing trend in the prices of vegetables and fruits continued alongside overcharging while vegetables were not sold in the Sahulat bazaars established by the government to provide relief to the general public.

The vendors at various Sahulat bazaars said that the prices of vegetables were very high so they could not bring it to sell here. They identified that the vegetables were not available at official rates at wholesale market so their purchase price was higher than the retail prices. So they could not be able to sell it lower than their purchase rates.

This week, the price of chicken live bird was further reduced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs191 per kg, while it sold at Rs210 to 220 per kg, and chicken meat by Rs36 per kg, fixed at Rs277 per kg, and sold Rs280 to 320 per kg.

The price of potato soft skin new A-grade was gained by Rs6 per kg, fixed at Rs50 to 53 per kg, sold at Rs70 to 80 per kg, B-Grade Rs44 to 47 per kg sold at Rs70 per kg, potato sugar-free A-grade was fixed at Rs39 to 41 per kg, sold at Rs50 to 55 per kg, B-grade at Rs34 to 36 per kg, mixed sold at Rs40 to 45 per kg, potato white fixed at Rs26 to 28 per kg, sold at Rs45 to 50 per kg.

The price of onion A-grade was increased by Rs4 per kg, fixed at Rs30 to 32 per kg, sold at Rs35 to 40 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs26 to 28 per kg, and C-grade at Rs22 to 24 per kg, B&C grade mixed sold at Rs25 to 30 per kg.

The price of tomato A-grade was increased by Rs4 per kg, fixed at Rs25 to 27 per kg, sold at Rs30 to 40 kg, B-grade fixed at Rs21 to 23 per kg, and C-grade at Rs17 to 19 per kg, B and C quality mixed sold at Rs20 to 25 per kg.

The price of garlic local was reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs110 to 115 per kg, sold at Rs220 to 260 per kg, garlic Chinese price was not fixed sold at Rs200 per kg, Garlic Harnai was gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs140 to 145 per kg, sold at Rs160 to 180 per kg.

Ginger Chinese was gained by Rs45 per kg, fixed at Rs385 to395 per kg, sold at Rs500 to 600 per kg. Cucumber farm reduced gained by Rs7 per kg, fixed at Rs52 to 54 per kg, sold at Rs60 to 70 per kg, and cucumber local by Rs2 per kg, fixed at Rs52 to 54 per kg, sold at Rs50 to 60 per kg. Brinjal price was fixed at Rs45 to 47 per kg, sold at Rs60 to 80 per kg.

Bitter gourd was reduced by Rs12 per kg, fixed at Rs55 to 57 per kg, sold at Rs80 to 100 per kg. Spinach rate remained unchanged at Rs30 to 32 per kg, sold at Rs50 per kg.

The price of lemon local gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs150 to 155 per kg, sold at Rs160 to 200 per kg. Pumpkin was reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs45 to 47 per kg, sold at Rs60 to 80 per kg. Ladyfinger was reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs70 to 73 per kg, sold at Rs100 to 120 per kg. Luffa was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs50 to 52 per kg, sold at Rs60 to 70 per kg.

The price of different variety of apples was fixed at Rs64 to 170 per kg, B-grade sold at Rs100 to 140 per kg, and A grade was sold at Rs250 to 300 per kg.

The price of Banana A-category was reduced by Rs5 per dozen, fixed at Rs135 to 140 per dozen, sold at Rs200 to 250 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs70 to 73 per dozen, sold at Rs100 to 130 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs52 to 54 per dozen, sold at Rs80 to 100 per dozen.

Melon was reduced by Rs4 per kg, fixed at Rs63 to 66 per kg sold at Rs40 to 80 per kg, hybrid melon was fixed at Rs35 to 37 per kg, sold at Rs40 to 50 per kg.

Dates Irani was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs215 to 225 per kg, sold at Rs300 to 400 per kg. Watermelon was fixed at Rs22 to 24 per kg, sold at Rs30 to 50 per kg.

Peach A-grade was gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs155 to 160 per kg, sold at Rs180 to 200 per kg, B-grade was gained by Rs14 per kg, fixed at Rs90 to 95 per kg and sold at Rs100 to 140 per kg. Plump A grade was reduced by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs260 to 270 per kg, sold at Rs350 per kg, B-grade was fixed at Rs150 to 155 per kg, sold at Rs200 to 250 per kg.
