In Sindh, admission in universities is based on entry tests. However, only 50 percent of the total score is used to calculate the Composite Percentage Number (CPN). The remaining half is based upon matriculation and intermediate marks.
Since universities use this aggregate method for calculation of merit, cheating in board examinations continues to be a big problem as students don’t shy away from using unfair means to get good marks. University admissions should be strictly based on only the total score of entry tests.
