Vaccine shortage
June 12, 2021
Vaccinating stray dogs is an effective way to control the increasing number of rabies patients. Last month, the local authorities in Sindh expressed that around 30,000 stray dogs had been vaccinated in Karachi alone. The authorities should also pay attention to the shortage of the rabies vaccine.
In case a stray dog bites a person, s/he must be administered the vaccine in a timely manner so that the patient does not suffer severe health problems. It is quite important for the authorities to ensure the supply of the vaccine to all public hospitals.
