Accountability court declares Farzana Raja as PO
ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Monday declared former chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Farzana Raja as proclaimed offender and issued non-bailable arrest warrants for her.
Accountability Court Judge Asghar Ali conducted the hearing and issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Farzana Raja due to her continuous absence from the court hearings. The court also directed blocking CNIC of Farzana and placing her name on the Exit Control List (ECL). The court also summoned the NAB prosecutor during the next hearing set on June 14 after the counsel of the co-accused in the case argued that indictment could not be made on an interim reference. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi had filed a reference against former chairperson BISP Farzana Raja and others accused of alleged corruption in the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in March last year.
