KP forms body to look into teachers’ grievances
PESHAWAR: The provincial government has constituted a high-level committee to look into the grievances and demands of the teachers and other employees.
The committee will submit its report to the chief minister.
The committee was formed after the police used force against the teaching and non-teaching staff of universities at a protest in Peshawar.
A notification about the constitution of the committee was issued on Tuesday.
The committee would be headed by special secretary Higher Education Department Ali Qadar Safi, while additional secretary (universities), representatives of the finance and establishment departments and deputy secretary universities would be its members.
The committee, as per the terms of reference mentioned in the notification, “would engage the representatives of faculty/administrative staff of public sector universities to listen to their grievan-ces/demands and submit a report to the chief minister of the province.”
