LAHORE: Even Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu has joined the world leaders and other leading celebrities who have vehemently denounced and slated American Presidential candidate Donald Trump’s proposal to bar Muslims from entering the United States.

Following a furious backlash and criticism hurled by dozens of members of the Israeli parliament at Netanyahu for hosting Trump, an official statement from the prime minister’s office had read: “Netanyahu rejects Donald Trump’s recent remarks about Muslims. The State of Israel respects all religions and strictly guarantees the rights of all its citizens. At the same time, Israel is fighting against militant Islam that targets Muslims, Christians and Jews alike and threatens the entire world.”

According to CNN, the Israeli government leader’s reaction has forced Trump to promptly defer his December 28 trip to Israel. The 69-year old real estate had tweeted: “I have decided to postpone my trip to Israel and to schedule my meeting with Netanyahu at a later date after I become President of the US.”

Talking to “Fox News,” the billionaire businessman had viewed: “He (Netanyahu) said we have a meeting and he looks forward to the meeting and all of that. But I didn’t want to put him under pressure. I also did it because I’m in the midst of a very powerful campaign that’s going very well, and it was not that easy to do. I would say lots of different reasons, I could have done it, it was semi-scheduled.”
