Autumn flowers show concludes

The 33rd Chrysanthemum and Autumn Flowers show, organised by Capital Development Authority (CDA) in collaboration with Islamabad Horticultural Society concluded here at Rose and Jasmine Garden.
In three-day flower show, multiple varieties of chrysanthemum flowers particularly intermediate, incurred, reflex, sprays, anemone, pompons, Korean hybrid, and spidery flowers, were displayed in mound, stall and rainbow orders at the show.
An official of CDA told APP that the main purpose of the flowers exhibition was to provide maximum entertainment and amusement to the public.
He said that flowers are the part of our life as they add beauty and fragrance to gardens, homes as well lives.
He said that apart from beautification, various species of flowers are great source of recreation and entertainment for the residents and such exhibitions encourage people for plantation of flowers at their homes.
An official of Horticulture society said that it was a healthy activity to promote horticulture among the nature lovers and such exhibitions were helpful in bringing people closer to the beauty of nature.
He was of the view that through such type of exhibitions the younger generation could learn about the importance of plants and environment.
A large number of people especially students and families visited the flower show to see exquisite variety of foreign and local flowers and plants
The organizations participated in the three-day show were Capital Development Authority, Islamabad Club, Pakistan Air Force Hospital, Allama Iqbal Open University and Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission and others.
