Security arrangements finalised
for Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA)

OKARA: The District Coordination Officer Tuesday said fool proof security arrangements were planned during Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
Addressing a meeting of the District Peace Committee at his conference room, the DCO lauded cooperation of religious scholars, traders and the masses for the Chehlum.
He said pillion riding was banned and a control room had been established in the DCO office along with a monitoring room.
The DCO said all encroachments on the routes of procession would be removed and generators would be arranged for lighting in the evening. The officiating DPO Saud Magsi told the meeting about the security arrangements.
14 BOOKED: Fourteen men were booked on the charges of providing residing facilities to strangers without informing the police.
Those booked include a hotel manager, Sajid of Shahbaz Park, Ali Sher, Talib of 49/2L, Arif Masih of 39/3R, Muhammad Afzal of Safdar Ghafoor Town, Amanat Ali and Nadeem of 18/D, Ishtiaq, Shah Muhammad, Shah Faisal, Wahid, and Abbas.
DARUL AMAN FUNCTION: An annual function of Darul Aman was held on Tuesday. Addressing the function, in-charge Darul Aman Madeeha Gilani said the institution started working in December 2005. She said up to this day 2,331 women and children were imparted training by the institution. Mrs Nasreen also spoke. The city elite, intellectuals, lawyers, teachers and social workers attended the function.
