Pakistan moving towards a bright future: Mamnoon

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain said on Tuesday that the country would soon see the dawn of progress and prosperity and Pakistan would emerge as a peaceful, strong and thriving country with a positive impact on the quality of life of the people.
Addressing the 82nd Convocation of Comsats Institute of Information Technology at the Convention Centre, the president said that the country would achieve progress with the completion of ongoing development projects and would earn a high place in the comity of nations. He asked the students to acquire higher education and uphold their religious and moral norms and never let down their Pakistani identity as this is the key to excel and achieve progress. He said that in this globalised world significance of attaining progress in science and technology has increased.
He expressed satisfaction that the government is paying attention to this important sector of education so that people could benefit from scientific knowledge adding in this regard heavy responsibility lies on educational institutions. “In this regard, educational institutions and all stakeholders should cooperate with the government for putting the curriculum on modern footing”, he remarked. He said that along with education the government is working dedicatedly for economic stability which includes many projects of electricity generation and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) adding that this would render positive impact on the quality of life of the people.
He said that the bad days are over and the future holds bright prospects adding for this reason it is necessary that the new generation fulfils its responsibilities with honesty and never compromises on national interests. He rejected a perceptionthat during the present tenure external debt has increased. He said that during the present tenure loans have been taken to repay previous debts and resultantly many external debts have been paid. He also gave away medals and awarded degrees amongst position holders and successful students.
Federal Minister for Science & Technology and Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain said that there is need to develop human resource in Pakistan adding in this regard the government is pursuing right policies to meet future challenges.
