PPP celebrates 48th foundation day

PESHAWAR: The information secretary of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Women Wing, Mehr Sultana, has said her party’s leadership and workers have rendered sacrifices for democracy.
Addressing workers at a function on Monday, she said the party activists would organise themselves under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and play their role in future politics.Meanwhile, the speakers at the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) foundation day ceremony on Monday vowed to accomplish the party founder’s mission and work for the rights of minorities.
The provincial president PPP minority wing, Naseeb Chand, presided while divisional and district presidents attended the meeting.Terming PPP as representative of the minority, they vowed to continue struggle for their rights under the PPP flags.
They paid rich tributes to the services of party founding Chairperson Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto and vowed to follow in their footsteps to achieve the minority rights.
Our correspondent in Nowshera adds: Member of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Central Executive Committee (CEC) Rahimdad Khan on Monday said his party made Pakistan’s defence invincible by making it an atomic power.
He was speaking at a function organised to mark the 48th foundation day of the PPP in Amangarh here. PPP provincial general secretary Liaqat Shabab, acting district president Tahir Aslam Khan, general secretary Malik Ghulam Hazrat and others were also present on the occasion.
Rahimdad Khan, who was senior provincial minister in the previous Awami National Party and PPP coalition government, said that PPP workers rendered sacrifices for the cause of democracy and rule of law.He hoped that PPP would again emerge as a big political force under the leadership of its Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Criticising the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government, Liaqat Shabab said the provincial government had failed to bring about any change in the life of the common man.He said the provincial government was making amendments to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission Act to protect the chief minister and his cabinet members from accountability.
