Whither accountability?

Asif Zardari has been exonerated in two NAB cases – SGS and Cotecna – on the pretext of non-submission of the original documents. It is ironic that NAB has made no attempts to obtain the attested copies and produce them before the court if the original documents were found missing.
Also, no investigation was carried out to determine how the original documents had been slipped out of the bureau’s volte. It is because of this attitude of the officials at NAB that the people of this country have stopped trusting the accountability process altogether.
