Man kills father, mother over domestic dispute

BAHAWALPUR: A man killed his father and mother over a domestic dispute at Green Town in Baghdadul Jadeed police limits on Friday.
Zaman allegedly gunned down his father Muhammad Nazir, a retired army man, and mother after a dispute with them.
According to SHO Irfan Akbar, when he reached the spot accused Zaman posing himself victim of his in-laws said that his estranged wife with her accomplices allegedly shot his parents dead.
In the meantime, Zaman’s brother Ahsan came there and told police that Zaman killed his parents. Police have arrested the accused and recovered a pistol from him and started investigation. According to police, there were already several criminal cases against the accused and he had remained behind the bars.

Man jailed for 52 years in acid throwing case

BAHAWALPUR: Anti-Terrorism Court Special Judge Khalid Arshad on Friday awarded 52-year imprisonment and Rs 400,000 fine to Akbar Ali in an acid throwing case registered with Cantonment police station.
According to prosecution, the convict had thrown acid on Shamim Akhtar and her relatives over a domestic dispute. As a result, the woman had lost her one eye and ear.
DEMO: Hundreds of JUI-F activists on Friday staged a demonstration at University Chowk against the attack on KP former chief minister Akram Khan Durrani.
The protesters were chanting slogans against the incident. They were also carrying placards and banners. They demanded immediate arrest of the attackers.

Another old farmer dies in PM Kisan Package queue

BAWALPUR: Another old farmer died from fever when he was standing in a queue at the Bahawalpur Sadr Tehsil Office to get amount under the PM Kisan Package.
The farmer, Qadir Bakhsh, of Chak 18/BC, Abbasnagar, who had been suffering from fever, came to the office to receive the amount. He was standing in a queue when he died from fever.
Earlier, a farmer died of heart attack when he was standing in a queue in the Vehari DCO Office to receive a pay order under the PM Kisan package on Wednesday.
