The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has announced the result of MBBS Part-I, First Professional, Annual Examination 2015 in Punjab on Saturday in record four days in its history after the culmination of the examination.
This is made possible by the untiring efforts of the Examination Department and the introduction of state-of-the-art technology and contemporary operational techniques by the Controller of Examinations.
A total of 5,507 candidates of 34 medical colleges appeared in the exam out of which 4,326 passed and 1,075 failed. Overall pass percentage is 80.10%. Abdul Wahab and Muhammad Usama Javed of Punjab Medical College Faisalabad got first and second positions securing 514/600 and 510/600 marks respectively. Third position has been shared by Fatima Shahab of Punjab Medical College Faisalabad and Hamza Waqar Bhatti of Rawalpindi Medical College Rawalpindi both securing 507/600 marks. Supplementary exam will start on 01.01.2016.
Distinction: The newly established Ameer-ud-Din Medical College has secured first position among all the government medical colleges in Punjab in the first professional MBBS Part-I annual examination 2015.
According to a press release issued on Saturday, Post Graduate Medical Institute and Ameer-ud -Din Medical College Principal Prof. Khalid Mehmood while expressing satisfaction over the results of the college said that by producing excellent results, the students of the new college have confirmed the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif who decided to establish the Ameer-ud-Din Medical College 2012 providing open chances to general public to get their children educated in medical field. He further said the students, faculty members and parents of the successful students deserve congratulation for this very honour of the first year result. He expressed the hope that the college will produce even better results during the years to come.
Prof. Khalid Mahmood said there was no dearth of talent or intelligence in our country. We need institutional approach to manage and groom this talent by establishing proper institutions well equipped with all the modern necessities. He said the chief minister Punjab has very wisely taken the decision to establish a new medical college to fulfil this very need of the hour. He stressed the students to continue their studies with the same commitment so as to realise the dreams of their parents and the nation. He said the faculty members of Ameer-ud-Din Medical College were very experienced and there were a number of academic facilities including research lab in the institution to help them sharpen their talent.
Reception: Punjab University’s Hailey College of Commerce on Saturday organised a welcome party in honour of the newly admitted students.
Punjab University (PU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran was the chief guest who said the forces who wanted to rule the world were behind the recent Paris attack and 9/11.
Dr Mujahid Kamran further said a cabal of banking families wanted to establish one world government and these families had been making efforts since 1773. He said the end to usury would result in the independence of mankind from this cabal.
PU VC went on to say that the people of US were the greatest asset of mankind, but they and their media were under the control of world’s financial elite while around 1.5 billion Muslims' world had no contribution to creation of new knowledge and these were the two basic reasons behind the problems of the world. He advised the students to adopt reading habits and master their subjects. He announced the cash prize of Rs 50,000 for the B.Com student who would secure first position.
Hailey College of Commerce (HCC) Principal Dr Hasan Mobeen Alam said the students, who would show outstanding performance in each subject every semester, would be given cash prizes.
Hailey College of Banking and Finance’s Principal Prof Dr Mobashar Munawar Khan, Secretary Academic Staff Association Dr Mahboob Hussain, faculty members and a large number of students were also present.
Meanwhile, PU Centre for Clinical Psychology (CCP) organised a one-day workshop “The Science of Empowerment” on Saturday in which trainees from ADCP and MS in Clinical Psychology participated.
Dr Oskan Mehmedagi from UK was the resource person.
Dengue: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Capt (retd) Muhammad Usman has said that all the nine towns have been working on dengue surveillance and both indoor and outdoor inspections are being conducted on regular basis.
He said all the town level teams were inspecting their respective towns and inspections were being conducted of every place including warehouses, graveyards, nurseries, factories, junkyards and residential areas as well.
DCO Usman said that not even a single negligence will be tolerated by the CDGL staff and strict action will be taken if anyone found absent during the dengue inspections.
Meanwhile, in a ceremony held under the City District Government Lahore (CDGL), cheques worth Rs 5,000 per acre to dozens of farmers were distributed in Lahore under the newly announced Kisan Package by the prime minister.
