BZU VC calls for improving varsity ranking

MULTAN: Bahauddin Zakariya University Vice-Chancellor Dr Tahir Amin has urged the university academicians to join hands and work together for improving the university ranking, which has dropped considerably during the last some months.
Addressing the BZU Academic Council meeting here on Thursday, he called for solving academic issues through reconciliation and mutual understanding. Appreciating the university teaching faculty, the BZU vice-chancellor said that they were highly competent and efficient. He expressed his rejoice over launching of MPhil and PhD programmes in Seraiki language.
Earlier, the Academic Council in its meeting approved MPhil and PhD syllabus after a debate. The Academic Council also approved launching of new programmes at private colleges for the promotion of professional courses and curricula. The Academic Council also approved two new programmes - BS Economics, Finance and BS Development Studies. It also approved uniform semester rules for MA, MSc and four-year BS courses being taught at colleges affiliated with the BZU.
The council elected BZU Library Committee members through voting. They are Dr Ijaz Ahmad, Dr Shafqatullah, Dr Azra Asghar Ali, Dr Nazar Muhammad Ranjha and Dr Nisar Hussain Shah. Government Wilayat Hussain College Principal Prof Muhammad Hussain Azad, Government Millat College Principal Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry and principals from two affiliated colleges.
BZU Department of Islamic Studies Chairman Dr Saeedur Rehman, Dr Muhammad Ayaz Rana, Dr Tariq Mehmood, Dr Shabbar Attiq, Dr Masood Akhtar, BZU Director Public Relations Dr Ghulam Shabbir Baloch, Director Academics Dr Muhammad Ashraf Khan and others attended the meeting.
