Islamabad: National University of Modern Languages (NUML) and Russian Institute of Strategic Studies (RISS) signed a Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) for mutual cooperation, says a press release.
NUML Rector Major General (r) Zia ud Din Najam and RISS Director Lieutenant General (r) Leonid P. Reshetnikov inked accord in a ceremony held at NUML on Tuesday. RISS delegation included Boris M. Volkhonsky, Mr Rafael S. Enikeev and Dr Anna Dudar while Director General NUML Brigadier (r) Azam Jamal, registrar, deans and heads of different departments from NUML were also present on the occasion.
According to the MoU both the institutions will cooperate in scientific and research programs and exchange of scientific literature in order to enrich library stocks, conduct seminars/ workshops, build the capacity of both
institutions and to assist in the planning, coordination and implementation of initiatives aimed at improving mutual understanding and promoting capacity-building through different training programs.
Speaking on the occasion NUML Rector Zia ud Din Najam said that RISS is contributing a lot in the development of Russian Federation and both institutions (NUML & RISS) can play a vital role to promote bilateral relations. He termed MoU as a mile stone in the history of NUML and said that interaction of academia-intellectual from both ends will solve all the issues of two countries. NUML Rector proposed the guest to start joint publications which will help a lot to understand each other.
RISS Director Lieutenant General (r) Leonid P. Reshetnikov in his speech said that it is the new beginning in Pakistan and Russia relations, Russia is keen to enhance bilateral relations with Pakistan and this MoU can play an important role in promoting the relations especially in the field of research and analysis.
