MARDAN: A strict action will be taken against those involved in aerial firing and other crimes in the district, a police official said on Monday.
Speaking at a news conference, District Police Officer (DPO) Faisal Shehzad said that festive firing was a scourge which must be discouraged at all costs.
He said groom and his parents will be arrested if aerial firing was carried out at a wedding ceremony. The official said that directives had already been issued to all the station house officers (SHOs) to take the violators to task.
Faisal Shehzad added that traffic police uniform was changed and they were also provided cameras to check traffic violations.
The DPO said that strict action will be taken against the underage drivers, over speeding and wheeling.
