37 MoUs on roads, infrastructure signed

Punjab Communication and Works Department has signed 37 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with foreign investors regarding projects of Roads and Infrastructure, The News has learnt.
The MoUs were signed during the Investors Conference held in the provincial metropolis. Chinese investors were by far the leading entity as out of the 37 agreements, 31 were signed by Chinese companies.
The foreign companies that signed MoUs were Dolsar Engineering Inc. Co., Dohwa Engineering Co Ltd, China Zhongilia Tongli Construction Co, China Jiangsu International Economic Technical Cooperation Group Ltd, Engineering and Environmental Consultants SDN.BHD, ESER Ankra, CNBM International Cooperation, Beijing Lupengpa Consulting & Engineering China, Project Engineering, BOTEK BOSPHORUS technical Consulting Corporation of Turkey, CCCC First Highway Consultants Company Ltd, Sichuan Province Geological Engg Complex, China Railway Airport Construction Group Co. Ltd, EKO Construction & Trade Co. Inc., HNAC , Jilin Provincial Communication Construction Group, CNBM International Cooperation, Zhong JIA Tong Li Construction Co. Ltd, CNBM International Cooperation, ANHUI Construction Engineering Group, Zhongiuo Tongli Construction Co., CNBM International Cooperation, ANHUI SHUIAN International Economic & Technical Cooperation, TIANYAN Construction Group Co. Ltd, HUBEI Industrial Construction Group, TASTOD Construction Group Co. Ltd, ANHUI SHUIAN International Economic & Technical Cooperation, and Mr. Xujianguo.
The Pakistani companies that engaged in partnership through MoUs with these foreign companies were Nespak Pvt Ltd, ESS-I-AAR, Engineering Consultancy Services Punjab, Associated Consulting Engineers ACE Pvt Ltd of Pakistan, Engineering General Consulting, Sarwar & Co. Pvt Ltd, Habib Construction Services Pvt Ltd, Highway Construction, Sheikh Mazhar Muhammad and Co. Pvt Ltd, Khalid & Brothers Engineers & Contractors, Sarco Abdul Waheed Khan & Co, M/s Munawar & Brothers, M/s Afzal Construction Company, M/s Afzal Construction Company, M/s Yaseen & Brothers, M/s Muhammad Asad and Company, Muhammad Asad & company, Sheikh Nazar Muhammad & Company, Tayyab Manzoor, Technotime Construction, Imtiaz Ahmad Contractor, C&W Department, Bridge Directorate and Road Research & MTI.
Habib Construction Services Pvt Ltd and ESS-I-AAR signed four MoUs each while Nespak and Tayyab Manzoor Company signed three each.
In addition to China, Turkish financiers showed interest in investing in Road and Infrastructure sector of Punjab as well and three MoUs were signed by Turkish companies one each with Nespak, Associated Consulting Engineers ACE Pvt Ltd of Pakistan and ESS-I-AAR. Malaysian and Korean investors signed MoUs with the Pakistani construction companies as well.
The C&W Department signed one MoU with M/s Zongiaotongli Construction Co. Ltd from China.
