KARACHI: Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) president Faisal Saleh Hayat has warned his staff not to issue any statement about the electoral matter of the federation because of its being sub judice.
“Faisal has taken serious notice of the publication of the election-related news in the press with reference to PFF which was a letter by FIFA in response to the letter of Arshad Khan Lodhi and he has strongly warned and directed relevant people not to issue any press release in future or offer comments about the PFF election process as the matter stands sub judice before the honourable Lahore High Court, failing which strict disciplinary action will be initiated against the defaulters,” a PFF press release said on Thursday.
“Faisal has reiterated his utmost respect for the honourable LHC and has stressed that no one should issue any comments about PFF’s election process till the case is pending in the court,” it said.
A few days ago the PFF had forwarded a letter of FIFA to former PFF congress member and head of the rival faction of the federation Arshad Khan Lodhi in which the world body had made it clear that it only recognised Faisal-led PFF and had mentioned that it endorsed the June 30 elections held in Changla Galli.
