ISLAMABAD: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Awami National Party, Jamaat-e-Islami and even the PML-Q have expressed their willingness to vote for Sardar Ayaz Sadiq as a consensus candidate for the office of Speaker National Assembly.
All these main political parties have tried to convince the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to support their consensus candidate but the party says it will back the candidate other than the PML-N’s Ayaz Sadiq, sources privy to developments confided to The News. Sadiq has thrice defeated Imran Khan and won the NA seat for the fourth time from the same area.
Sources claimed that even some PTI MNAs will not vote for their party candidate and the same could be verified from the final tally of votes in the results of election for the Speaker.
