Karachi An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday declared former head of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Karachi Tanzeemi Committee Hammad Siddiqui and his accomplices as proclaimed offenders in a ‘china-cutting’ case. Siddiqui along with Mohammad Ahsan alias Chunnu Mamu, Shakir alias Langra and Saleem Qureshi were alleged to have made huge monetary transactions to London in violation of the law. The KTC chief had also been declared a proclaimed offender in a gun-attack case; around six people, including a woman, were killed while nine others were injured after a rally of the Qaumi Awami Tehreek, then Awami Tehreek, was attacked while it was passing through Napier Road in Karachi, in 2012. He was among the activists suspended by the party in a reshuffle in 2013, following the general elections. NAB arrests suspect Relative of senior MQM leader Anees Qaimkhani was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for allegedly grabbing land through ‘china-cutting’. Farid Yousfani was said to have unlawfully acquired land in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Gulistan-e-Jauhar areas. Hearing adjourned Cases pertaining to possession of unlicensed arms and explosive materials, registered against seven activists of the MQM were adjourned till November 21. Accused Rizwan, Noman, Sajjad, Haseeb-ur-Rehman, Faiza, Asif and Taufeeq were arrested from Nine Zero during the March 11 raid.
