CHARSADDA: The students of various educational institutions were forced to study under the open sky as buildings of 140 schools have been either destroyed or damaged across the district in the October 26 earthquake, officials of the district education department said on Thursday. They said the damaged educational structures included 60 schools for girls. They said that the damaged school comprises of 57 primary, 11 Middle and 12 High Schools. They said the buildings of most of the damaged primary schools had been declared dangerous due which the students were forced to study under the open sky.
The students of the damaged schools and their parents were also worried about safety. The officials said the services of engineers of the Construction and Works Department would be hired to assess the damage caused to the buildings.
They said the students of the schools declared dangerous would be shifted to alternative buildings.
