Senator Dr. Babar Awan paid a visit to the Millennium University College, H-11/4, for a motivational talk on pursuing a successful law career, says a press release.
The rector of Millennium University College, Chaudhry Faisal Mushtaq, in his opening address to the students, introduced Dr. Awan as a prominent politician, lawyer, author, and analyst having exemplary legal acumen.
Students from all disciplines, including those pursuing the University of London, LLB Honors Programme, gave a standing ovation to the former federal law minister, as he took the floor to speak. While addressing the students, the former law minister recounted several events and experiences from his personal and professional life. He urged the students to keep in mind three golden elements of a successful law career: personal declaration of intent, hard work and disregard of demotivating elements.
Quoting his mentors in the legal arena, Justice Maulvi Anwarul Haq and Attorney Zafar Iqbal, he asked the students to be proactive in their student life not allowing anyone to avail their services for free even at the initial phase of their career. Advising the female students among the participants he requested that the former should place utmost focus on their academic and professional interests before other matters.
The talk was followed by an interactive question-answer session wherein the students asked several legal queries seeking insight on the coexisting of parallel justice (Jirgah) system in the country, the place of females in the legal arena, marginalization of transgender in the job market etcetera. Praising the students’ inquiries on legal matters he instructed them to familiarize themselves with the Pakistan Penal Code, Manual of Family Laws and Civil Code of Procedures.
Following the talk Faisal Mushtaq personally showed the guest various facilities on the campus including the state-of-the-art court room.
