Robber beaten by mob dies in hospital

A mob beat an alleged robber to death in the Chakiwara area on Friday, while police arrested another mugger in an injured condition after a shootout in Lyari.
The lynching took place near the Al-Madina Masjid in Chakiwara. Police said the robber and his accomplices were looting citizens when they were overpowered. While his partners managed to escape, the unidentified lynching victim could not and was beaten with iron rods and other heavy blunt objects.
The Chakiwara police did eventually manage to intervene and shifted him to the Civil Hospital where he died.

Suspect arrested
In Lyari, the Kalri police foiled a snatching bid and arrested a robber in injured condition. Police said they were on patrol when they came across a mugging incident near the Old Truck Stand. A chase and shootout ensued in which one of the robbers was wounded, while his partners fled. The injured suspect, identified as Zafar Baloch, was taken into custody and shifted to the CHK.
