PESHAWAR: Like other parts of the country, mourning processions were taken out from various localities of the provincial metropolis on the 8th Muharram on Thursday.
Shabeeh-e-Zuljinah procession was taken out from Imambargah Syed Najaf Ali Shah, Momin Shah, Chowk Nasir Khan, which after passing through its traditional route culminated at the Imambargah. Akhunzada Mujahid Ali Akbar addressed the mourners.
Majalis were also held where the speakers shed light on the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Husain (RA), his family members and his companions. They said that the life of Hazrat Imam Husain (RA) is a beacon for the Muslims and gives a lesson not to bow before the tyrants, come what may.
