A 15-year-old cyclist was killed by a speeding bus in the Model Town area on Wednesday. The victim, yet to be identified, was passing through E Block, Model Town on his cycle when a rickshaw hit him, as a result of which he fell on the road. Meanwhile, a rashly-driven bus ran over him, resulting into his instant death.
Police shifted the body to morgue. The accused bus driver, who was later identified as Idrees, had been arrested by the police.
SUICIDE: A 26-year-old youth committed suicide by consuming poisonous pills in the Nishtar Colony area on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Gull Mohammad, son of Zulfiqar Ahmad of Attari Saroba. Police said that the boy Gull had ended his life after being admonished by his parents over an unknown issue. Police removed the body to morgue.
stabbed: A 38-year-old man was stabbed to death by his step-son in the Sundar area on Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Ali Sher who served as a security guard in a local housing society in the Sundar area. Police said that the accused identified as Mudassar had nursed a grudge against the victim Ali Sher for having extramarital relations with his mother Sughran Bibi. Police shifted the body to morgue and registered a murder case against the accused.
FOUND DEAD: A man was found dead near a shrine in the Kahna police station area on Wednesday.Some visitors had spotted the charred body of the victim and informed the police. Police were trying to figure it out whether the man, yet to be identified, had been burnt alive by some unidentified persons or accidentally burnt.
Meanwhile, a 75-year-old man was found dead in the limits of Shadman police station on Wednesday. Police claimed that the old man, yet to be identified, might have died of natural causes. Police shifted the bodies to morgue.
ACCIDENTS: Total 539 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours; in which 12 lives were lost and 444 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 180 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first aid on the spot.
arrested: Wapda security staff apprehended a suspect, Muhammad Waseem Abbasi, from the Wapda House on Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect was trying to enter Wapda House building. On search, two different computerised National Identity Cards bearing the same name, but different numbers and issuance dates, two ATM cards of different banks and a receipt of motorcycle booking were recovered from the suspect. After initial investigation, the suspect was handed over to police.
