FAISALABAD: The Punjab government has constituted the Divisional Committee for Punjab Saaf Pani Programme to implement the programme.
The commissioner has been nominated as the committee secretary and MNA Ch Muhammad Shahbaz Babar would be its convener while MPA Amjad Ali Javed of Toba Tek Singh, MPA Mehr Khalid Mehmood Sargana of Jhang, MPA Muhammad Ilyas Chinioti of Chiniot, DCOs of four districts of Faisalabad division, Public Health Engineering SE and Punjab Saaf Pani Company acting regional director would be its members.
The first meeting of the committee was held at Commissioner Office, which was chaired by MNA Ch Muhammad Shahbaz Babar. Punjab Saaf Pani Company acting regional Director Khurram Shahzad briefed the meeting about the administrative structure, working and scope of the Punjab Saaf Pani Company. He said that Saaf Pani would be provided by the company in the areas where water supply services were not available by the Wasa, TMAs and Public Health Engineering Department.
He said that 36 villages of Tandlianwala and Gojra tehsils had been selected in the first phase for provision of Saaf Pani and survey had been carried out of these areas by the company.
