PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has granted bail to a former executive engineer (XEN), who was arrested over alleged corruption in the Golen Gol hydropower project, Chitral. During hearing of Amanullah’s bail application, the court was told that the accused had been arrested in a case pertaining to use of substandard material in establishment of the Golen Gol residential colony because he did not forward a report on the poor material to other authorities. The petitioner’s lawyer said that because the project engineers and other employees had been released on bail, his client should also be released. After hearing arguments, the court released Amanullah on two surety bonds of Rs1 million.
