KMC official gunned down by target killers

Karachi
A senior official of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) was gunned down in PIB Colony on Monday, in what officials believed was a targeted attack.
Additional Director of the KMC, 50-year-old Arshad Hussain was shot dead by two unidentified men on a motorcycle, near Goharabad situated in PIB Colony.
His body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), where the medico-legal officer declared the deceased was hit by five bullets on his upper torso.
Empty bullet casings of a 9mm pistol were also claimed to have been found from the place of the incident. According to SHO PIB Colony police station, Zafar Shah, the deceased was a Shia and was a resident of Federal B Area, Block 14. He said the attack was targeted; however, no reasons for the deceased being targeted were disclosed.

Three killed, one hurt in road crashes
Three people were killed and one injured in different accidents on Monday, while a body of a drowning victim was found in the Ibrahim Hyderi area.
Nazeer Ahmed, 20, was killed and his friend Amir Mahmood, 21, was injured, when a speeding water tanker crashed into their motorcycle in the Jamshed Quarter police remits.
In the Korangi Industrial Area, a motorcyclist, Muhammad Hussain, 35, died after a speeding car ran into his bike near Bilal Colony.
An unidentified man, said to be around 40 years old, was killed when a vehicle hit his motorcycle near Dakkhan Chowrangi in the Super Market police area.

Body found
The body of a young man said to have drowned a few days ago was found in Ibrahim Hyderi police limits. The body was taken to the JPMC for a postmortem where a MLO said that it was at least three days old.

Two men found dead
Two bodies were found in two different places on Monday.
The body of an unidentified man was found near the Naval Flats in the Kalri police limits.
A passer-by saw that some people were throwing the body from a moving car in the area.
After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and shifted the body to the Civil Hospital.
A medico-legal officer said the preliminary reports showed that the deceased, who appeared to be around 30 years old, had been brutally tortured and sustained three bullets wounds.
In the Sohrab Goth police jurisdiction, the police was tipped off about an anonymous body lying in bushes near the Jilani Goth.
After reaching the scene, police party moved the corpse to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities. Doctors said that torture marks could be seen on the body and it was at least two days old. The deceased appeared to be about 30 years old.
