NOWSHERA: Armed men kidnapped the coordinator of the Shuhada-o-Ghazi Forum, a representative body of the parents of the students killed in the Army Public School attack, from the Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway on Saturday.
Ahmad Ali, hailing from Yakatoot locality in Peshawar, told the Akbarpura Police Station that he along with his son Mohammad Bilal and brother Qaiser Ali, who was the coordinator of the Shuhada-o-Ghazi Forum, had gone to Mardan to offer fateha over the death of his mother-in-law.
He said seven men armed with Kalashnikovs travelling in two vehicles intercepted their car and forcibly pulled out Qaiser Ali from it near Camp Koroona on the Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway when they were returning home.
Ahmad Ali said that he started calling in people for help, but the armed men kidnapped his brother and escaped unchallenged.
He quoted one of the kidnappers as saying that they were government officials and needed Qaiser Ali.
It was learnt that the accused fled through the Chamkani interchange.
The Akbarpura Police Station lodged the case and started investigating the incident.
District Police Officer Rabnawaz Khan said that the police were looking into the matter and had launched a search operation to hunt down the kidnappers.
