An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday remanded three suspected target killers of a certain political party to the Rangers for detention of a period of 90 days.
The court was informed that one of the accused, Moiz Saleem, was arrested during a surgical operation carried out by the paramilitary force on late Thursday night. He was said to have been involved in killing 57 people including two officials of Rangers besides also carrying out attacks on police vehicles.
Accused Kamal, arrested from Lyari, was said to have carried out target killings of at least 29 people, while the third suspect, Noman Arif, was arrested from Vehari (Punjab) and was claimed to have killed 10 people.
Week long remand
Judicial Magistrate (East-VI) permitted officials of the Shah Faisal Colony police station to keep a double-murder accused, Syed Asif Zaidi, in its custody for seven days.
Sub-Inspector Khalid who had produced the accused before the court claimed the accused had killed two activists of the Sunni Tehreek (ST), namely Shakeel and Asif, in 2014.
He further claimed the accused was associated with a certain political party and had killed the activists over political enmity.
