New westerly wave lowers temperature

LAHORE:A new westerly wave lowered down temperature in provincial metropolis which came down to 39.6°C, giving a sigh of relief to Lahorites here on Thursday.
Met officials said continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. Westerly wave is likely to enter upper and central parts of the country on Thursday and may persist till Sunday. They predicted rain-wind-thunderstorm (with isolated hailstorm) in Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, KPK, North east Balochistan and Sindh. Rainfall was only recorded at Garhi Dupatta.
Thursday’s highest maximum temperature was recorded at Shaheed Benazirabad where mercury reached 51°C while in Lahore minimum temperature was 30.6°C.
