Soldier dies of Covid-19, buried in Kurram
PARACHINAR: A Pakistan Army soldier who had contracted coronavirus lost battle for life on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner Kurram district, Shah Fahd, said that Havaldar Rahim Hussain, who belonged to Shalozan village in the Kurram district, was infected by Covid-19 when he was performing duty at the Pak-Afghan border in Mohmand district.
He was taken to the Combined Military Hospital in Peshawar where he breathed his last. The funeral prayer for the deceased was held under standard operating procedures (SOPs). He was later laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard near Parachinar airport with full military honours. A smart contingent of the army troopers presented guard of honour on this occasion. Col Javed Ilyas, Captain Aiyeen Hussain and others placed floral wreaths on the grave of the deceased soldier and offered fateha for the departed soul.
