Posting of female official hailed
MANSEHRA: The Ulema in Upper Kohistan have welcomed posting of a female head of the district education department for women and asked government to order the posting more women employees in district.
“This is a misconnection that Ulema in Kohistan are against posting of female officers in Education department,” Maulana Kareemdad, the chairman of dispute resolution council told reporters on Tuesday. Maulana Kareemdad, a prayer leader at central mosque in Pattan, said that Zubaida Khattak was recently posted as district education officer who would help promote quality education and address the issues faced by female teachers.
Maulana Kareemdad said that male officers were posted as education officers both in Lower Kohistan and Kolai-Palas districts, which was unacceptable to the Ulema. “We have the right to lodge our protest against this as it is the breach of law as according to rules no male officer can be posted in female education department,” he said.
