The Faculty of Higher Studies (FHS) of National University of Modern Languages (NUML) organised its first-ever Postgraduate Alumni Meeting at the NUML Auditorium, says a press release.
Ex-rector Major General (r) Masood Hassan was the chief guest on the occasion, while NUML Rector Major General (r) Zia ud Din Najam, founder rector Brigadier (r) Aziz Ahmed Khan, NUML Registrar Brigadier (r) Aminullah, FHS Dean Dr. Shazra Munawar, directors, HoDs, guests and a large number of alumni attended the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, former NUML rector Major General (r) Masood Hassan said that active interaction among alumni plays a vital role in uplift and strengthening of the academic institution. He said that alumni are an asset for any educational institute and the first alumni meet organised by FHS is really commendable. He thanked NUML Rector Major General Zia ud Din Najam and Dr. Shazra Munawar, the hosts of the ceremony, for inviting him as chief guest.
NUML Rector Major General Zia ud Din Najam, in his speech, stressed on the importance of the alumni meet and urged ex-students to give their best potential to the organisations they are serving in. He said that NUML is producing quality graduates of higher studies in various fields who are serving the motherland with great devotion. He vowed to focus on research-based education and said that as rector he would leave no stone unturned to make NUML one of the top universities of the country. He applauded the role of founder rector Brigadier (r) Aziz Ahmed Khan and thanked him for attending the ceremony.
Colourful programmes were presented by the ex-students.
Earlier, Faculty of Higher Studies Dean Dr. Shazra Munawar welcomed the distinguished guests and highlighted the importance of the alumni meet. She paid rich tribute to her late colleague, Dr. Saeeda Asadullah Khan, for her meritorious services for higher studies department of NUML.
